Our US Constitution provides protections in the Bill of Rights - TopicsExpress

Our US Constitution provides protections in the Bill of Rights against excessive government. The 4th Amendment prohibits broad search and seizure of what we are as individuals and mandates probable cause. Broad sweeps of phone records and emails without specific and prior probable cause is unconstitutional and violates what we are as a country. We cannot give up our rights because the government tells us we need to be secure. The 4th Amendment reads: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
