Our active duty military were the only ones to asked to take a financial haircut in the recently passed omnibus spending bill, with their pension COLAs (cost of living adjustments) removed. Republicans in the House claim that they had to do this to get the bill passed and that it doesnt go into effect for two years, plenty of time for them to find a way to reverse it. Veterans groups dont believe they will keep that promise unless a lot of pressure is kept on them, and two years is a LONG time to keep a congressmans attention on anything.
