Our blessings continue on this day after Thanksgiving: my mother - TopicsExpress

Our blessings continue on this day after Thanksgiving: my mother continues to be able to transfer herself without assistance from bed to wheelchair to toilet or chair and back, and to walk behind a walker without assistance. Shes barely using the wheelchair, because she believes its too comfortable, and she could get too used to it. Mom has walked around the whole house, and is sitting in regular people chairs, as she puts it, which she did to work on bills this morning. I alerted Joy and Ambassador Home Care that we probably will not need them next week as planned, except for a therapist 3 days a week, and possibly for some assistance with bathing. Dad got Mom a shower chair this morning, and a hand-held shower wand. I retired the portable commode to the garage, and were talking about giving up the hospital bed, and getting 2 twin beds for their bedroom. That way, I can stay with her whenever needed, and the beds can be pulled apart should we ever need to bring the hospital bed back again. Mom has talked with friends Linda, who brought 2 kinds of soup, freshly baked bread and cupcakes for Dad (!), with cousin Sherrie to thank her again for the Thanksgiving feast (Sherrie called it The Flying Turkey), and with Anne-Marie. I suggested that Mom call her nursing facility therapist, Kim Pilkington, to thank her for being THE catalyst to this momentous restoration, which she did. I think Kim was delighted to hear from Mom, and to know what part she played in Moms recovery. I also heard from a dear friend of mine, who reported providential movement within her own family from her family having read my posts about my family!! As I had said before, if anyone other than me benefitted from me having recorded my experiences over the past few weeks, it was a bonus blessing -- and that has definitely come to pass! Finally, Im typing this message on my laptop IN MY PARENTS HOUSE -- they got me internet here for me!!!! We are grateful, grateful, grateful!
