Our boy Max has come a long way baby... this stunning 3 year old German Shepherd mix has been through the wringer and back! Dumped at NYCACC high-kill municipal shelter back in the winter, Max was quickly scooped up by a internal foster- for his stellar personality, and sweet tendencies. He spent 3 months with this foster and bonded quickly, becoming protective of his guardian- the one person who ever treated him with love and care. Poor Max got the boot, due to landlord issues and landed back at the NYCACC- high-kill shelter. Max was a favorite at the shelter and they kept him around for much longer than normal dogs get- Max was given 3 months!!! He sat in a cage at the shelter for 3 months!!! Poor Max, a young active German Shepherd locked in a 2x3 for months!! His behavior started to deteriorate and the shelter management reached out to us for help. He was a shelter favorite, but his confinement and very limited exercise took a toll on Maxy boy. Well here we are today. Max has been given a Second Chance - Max is doing amazing with his active caregiver. Max is a high-energy , Shepherd at heart. He is loving, devoted, and will protect those he loves. Max would do best in an active household, with a family who has Shepherd experience. Max can live with other dogs, a submissive active female would be the perfect match- calling all Shepherd Lovers... Max is amazing.
