Our bride of the week is Hannah Riley! Heres her story: My fiance, Ryan, proposed at the Williams Tower Waterfall, right by the Galleria. Before I get into the details, it is a particularly meaningful place for us since we frequently visit the Galleria and always drive by the waterfall. In the almost two years before our engagement, we must have driven by it a thousand times and never stopped to actually visit and appreciate it. However, every time we passed, I would comment on how beautiful it was and how we should go there. The proposal happened on October 25. My birthday was on the 23rd and I just knew he would propose on my birthday. Instead of a cake, he surprised me with Oreo cakeballs from Petite Sweets (which are my absolute favorite dessert) and I thought that there would be a ring inside of one. But after all of them had been consumed, I didnt find anything and he asked why I was acting so strangely and I explained. He laughed and said he was definitely making plans but would not do it when I was expecting it because he wanted me to be surprised. So I dropped it. On the 25th, he told me that we needed to go to the Galleria to take some clothes back and to dress cute since we were going to a nice brunch. As we got to the Galleria, we drove by the waterfall and he looked at it and said that he heard it was going to be torn down at the end of the year so we should stop and visit it. I was in shock and confused that they would tear the waterfall down and agreed that we had to stop! So we park, walk up to the waterfall, and he takes me right into the mist. It was incredible. Being up close and right under it, the sound, the mist, it took my breath away. After admiring it for a minute he told me that he did not want to get wet and that we should move back a bit (I didnt realize at the time he was positioning us for photos). As we moved back I said This is really intense. He responded with I know, for more reasons than one. I looked at him and could see that he was nervous but before I had a chance to ask why, he said to me, I know you were not expecting anything to happen, but I love you more than anything. You are my match in every single way, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. As he was saying this he got down on one knee and asked me if I would spent the rest of my life with him and marry him. All I was able to get out was a very emphatic Yes! as he put the ring on my finger and we kissed to seal the deal. After he got up from his knee, he kissed and hugged me and turned me to say, There are some special people here who want to see you. Then I saw my family and ran and hugged them. I remember being in such shock and with tears in my eyes as I was running back and forth between hugging him and family members. He had planned to have some of my family, his younger sister, and one of his law school friends there to take pictures. He picked a friend that I had not met yet so she could be right up by the proposal spot without tipping me off to take pictures of us as we walked up to the waterfall, during the proposal, and after. Congrats, Hannah!
