Our cat rescue got a call from another shelter- one of our cats had been surrendered there, with our paperwork. The cat was a kitten when I rescued her 2 yrs. ago. She was adopted by an older man who recently passed away and no one in his family would take the cat so it was left at a shelter (that does not practice a no kill philosophy), who thankfully called us. The cat is now here at my place, awaiting transfer to another foster home next week. She looks so sad. When I initially rescued her, she was just a baby and had a dislocated hip, which we had repaired. In only 2 yrs., this poor cat has been mistreated, adopted, then left in a shelter. It breaks my heart. Please, if you adopt from a shelter and you need to surrender your cat, go back to the shelter you initially got the cat from- all the shelters will be more than willing to take their cats (or dogs) back. We invest time, money and love into our rescues and want them to have a good life, even if it takes several tries to achieve that.
