Our client is a joint venture between African Rainbow Minerals and Norilsk Nickel Africa is an Open Pit and Underground Base Metal and Chrome operation. The Mine is currently exploiting a disseminated nickel, copper and platinum group metal deposit associated with a satellite intrusion of the Bushveld Igneous Complex SUPERINTENDENT CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT: FINANCIAL SERVICES [email protected] RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: Contract Management and Contingency Planning: Track the interpretation of Organisational requirements into contractual provisions Ensure that the providers comply with the agreed Organisational requirements Act as a single point of contact for all formal and legal correspondence relating to the contracts Maintain the specification of contract performance, monitor contract performance and report on overall service or business outcome level Oversee operations of the contracts and monitor customer aspects of service quality Negotiate remedies with the provider and escalate contract problems as necessary Maintain and develop contract specifications and assessment of service Quality Ensure provider performance matrices’ of internal controls are implemented in order to identify problems well before they compromise contractual performance levels Ensure that detailed agreements of the required service levels, the expected performance and quality of service to be delivered are in place Ensure the developments of contingency plans are in place by provider and coordinate the auditing of these plans Implement and monitor a formal authorization procedure Ensure that the requirements for service performance reports and management information are defined before or during contract negotiations and confirmed during the transition period of the contract Analyze new law, regulation and contract trends for potential impact on business unit objectives Develop and implement a negotiation strategy on complex contractual issues. Contractual Relations: Encourage an atmosphere of trust, openness and communication and an attitude based on working together on shared objectives Establish and manage communication flows between customer and provider, and ensure that they are used Manage the dispute resolution process Manage upwards to ensure that senior management is informed about issues before they escalate and can intervene as appropriate Establish regular reporting procedures, both formal and informal and ensure that they are used Contract Administration and Document Management: Handles the formal governance of the contract and changes to the contract documentation Implementation of clear administrative procedures to ensure that all parties to the contract understand all aspects Ensure that contract documentation accurately reflects the arrangement and changes to it and that it is carefully controlled Implement Management reporting procedures in order to control specific information passed to management about the service Ensure all contract related documentation is document controlled and order to ensure that no changes are made without appropriate authorization Record the status of documents (current/historic, draft/final) Business Development: SMME Development, Local Economic Development and Enterprise Development Empowerment of Local Business Entrepreneurs and Understanding of SLP obligations SHREQ: Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures. THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ARE ESSENTIAL: Grade 12/ Standard 10 Diploma/Degree in Financial/Quantity Surveying/Engineering (NQF Level 6) 5-6 years contractor management experience Valid driver’s license Medical Fitness Certificate
