Our client is seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to serve as an internal consultant by providing technical advice and services in the areas of open pit mine operations, mine planning and projects in East Africa. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing technical input and leadership to relevant improvement initiatives such as payload management, load and haul optimization, operate-for-reliability and drill and blast Assisting in the development of client’s technical standards and processes. Participating in order-of-magnitude, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies as well as merger, acquisition or divestment due-diligence exercises. Participating in technical assurance reviews and health checks. Supporting surface mining and ore body knowledge communities of practice, including knowledge sharing and promotion of the discipline and capabilities. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Degree in mining engineering or similar discipline Minimum 8-10 years of experience as an open pit mining engineer in technical and operational management roles. Successfully participated in the management and delivery of projects. Strong capability in mine planning and design, including ore reserve estimation and reconciliation.
