Our client is urgently looking for a 1st Engineer to work onboard their Drillship located in Angola. Resopnsibilities:- ▪ Report to Chief Engineer ▪ Be the second in charge of the Chief Engineer ▪ Be familiar with and maintain awareness of the relevant Company requirements and where applicable, the latest industry codes and standards including statutory rules and regulations ▪ Ensure all workspace technical and maintenance activities are carried out consistently with Company policies and in accordance to Vessel Management Manual ▪ Ensure a safe and efficient operation of all machinery on board during his duty shift ▪ Ensure that permit to work system and relevant isolation and confined space entry procedures are understood and observed ▪ Ensure adequate training of the crew of his duty shift, included those in the emergency team ▪ Ensure that the Asset Management Operative System (AMOS) is rigorously implemented in order to survey, test and maintain all machinery/equipment of the ship, comprising Emergency and Safety systems and all Corporate owned/rented equipment which may be operated on/from the vessel, in accordance with statutory, class, flagstate, company requirements and standards ▪ Ensure that engine room operations, where required, are carried out as per Company procedures ▪ Supervise bunkering/offloading of fuel/oil, the refueling of vessels ▪ Ensure for efficient and timely ordering of adequate resources and spares for mechanical equipment ▪ Order, in consultation with the Chief Engineer, spare parts and consumables for the Vessel ▪ Notify the Chief Engineer immediately of any defects which may affect ships safety and operations capabilities or put at risk the marine environment ▪ Perform duties within the vessel emergency team as indicated in Emergency Preparedness Manual ▪ Develop recommendations for stand by repair work and modifications ▪ Intervene and report in case of unsafe act and unsafe working conditions, near miss and incident/accident ▪ Issue hand-over reports to his relieve and copies the Chief Engineer Authority:- ▪ Assign work instructions and duties to the engine crew ▪ Issue instructions and orders to engine crew ▪ Take immediate actions to avoid pollution to the marine environment ▪ Maintain safe working practices Experience:- ▪ A minimum of 2 years experience as Engine Officer on off-shore activity Details and Salary Package:- Flag: Portugal Location: Worldwide currently in Angola Position: 1st Engineer Contract start: ASAP Contract duration: 2 years Work/leave cycle: 28 days on duty/ 28 days off duty Salary: £285/ per worked and travel day Benefits: 25% Retention Bonus Interested candidate please submit your updated CV the soonest. jobatsea.org/job/69505/1st-engineer-needed-onboard-a-drillship-in-angola-at-faststream-recruitment-pte-ltd/
