Our client who specializes in the Pharmaceutical industry is currently looking to place a:- FINANCIAL MANAGER HOLDINGS - DURBAN DESCRIPTION:- MONTHLY:- Review creditors invoices in BAAN Review creditors EFT payments in BAAN and FNB Oversee all intercompany charges Supervise the management and maintenance of Fixed asset register Supervise the manage and maintenance of the IP (intangible asset) registers Calculate new royalties for IP purchased Review intercompany loan calculations and calculation forex gain or loss monthly Maintain interest calculation for loans Maintain calculation for guarantee fees Calculate interest Calculate straight lining of Durban lease Scrutinise vat accounts for accuracy Review the preparation and payment of Vat through e-filing Review Durban cash book and journal for correct allocation Review all monthly journals as per ‘workflow for Holdings accounts’ Review GL Accounts recons as per ‘workflow for Holdings accounts’ Scrutinise GL for accuracy and prepare monthly accruals Prepare detailed Holdings monthly management accounts comparing to budget and latest forecast Send management accounts to cost centre managers for comment Review the upload of the TB into Cognos (financial reporting system) Reconcile all account in Cognos and submit to Group Respond to queries on monthly accounts On a quarterly basis, liaise with cost centre managers and prepare the forecast Send latest forecast to cost centre managers for comment Update Cognos with latest forecast, reconcile all accounts in Cognos and submit to Group ANNUALLY:- Annually liaise with cost centre managers and prepare the budgeT Send budget to cost centre managers for comment Update Cognos with annual budget, reconcile on Cognos and submit to Group Prepare half year end pack Prepare year end pack Annual report disclosure Prepare all schedules for external auditors Answer queries and questions of external auditors re year end At year end prepare tax pack with all supporting schedules Sort out all tax advisors queries re tax pack so that the tax return can be prepared and submitted ADHOC:- Sort out all relevant queries as they arise Liaise with KPMG re SARS audit and prepare all necessary schedules and copies of invoices that are required LEARNING AND GROWTH:- Provide on-going assessment and feedback for staff development Learning requirements are acknowledged to improve staff performance and motivation Team effectiveness is facilitated and assessed against standards and contingencies applied when required On the job assessment and feedback occur timorously RESOLVE IR ISSUES:- Performance issues are accurately identified and action is instituted Potential conflict is resolved according to IR procedures Disciplinary action is taken according to the IR policy, in cases of extreme poor performance and inappropriate behaviour by staff IDENTIFY DEVELOPMENT / TRAINING NEEDS:- Staff performance is monitored against standards and regular feedback is provided Individual goals are developed and aligned to business goals and roles are clearly defined as per role profile Performance discussions are held regularly to identify learning requirements SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:- Skills and Attributes Computer literate – proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and a fully integrated computer system E.g.
