Our colleague,Yara Sallam &over 20 others are to remain incarcerated for 3 more months before they get another chance at a judicial hearing. The next judicial hearing is due on the 13th September! This is a lubricious abuse of the provisional detention, which is now turned into a de facto punitive measure. An Egyptian judge found it fit today to remand a 28-year lawyer and 22 others in custody for weeks to come without presenting material evidence nor hearing witnesses for a misdemeanor (i.e. a peaceful protest). #FreeYara who earned three law degrees from Egypt, France and the US but does not seem fortunate enough to get a fair trial or due process in her homeland.
