Our combined lack of using technology to advance workers issues is why as a movement we are increasingly irrelevant and dying. We have a powerful messages to deliver, the mediums in which to deliver it, and the members to drive it home all sitting on the sidelines. What we don’t have is a structured use of websites built with effective content, no Blogs establishing authority over the work we do, no you Tubes of the training we do in our fabulous apprenticeships for the next generation of skilled crafts persons. We have no structured aggressive use of using the membership to leverage or numbers to advance workers issues with social media in the political arena. We have yet to trend a single workers issue related Tweet. We do not have interconnected use of communications between leadership and membership using mass texting, mass email and smart phone Apps. What we do have is crap for technology vendors selling us rocks in the day of saw machine guns! Dan Woodman of LeadingLabor has partnered with Labor Rising to change that now. Having worked with companies such as Microsoft at senior levels, Dan brings a totally independent energy to getting unions and their contractors in the game now. No more BS and the endless meetings. Dan is the right man to lead this paradigm shift unions “have to” make. Take a look at his video tomorrow posted here on our Facebook page and also look at his bio at laborrising
