Our county gets a lot wrong. We also get a lot right. When it comes to the rights of ALL children to enter school, we get an A+. With illegally limited resources btw -- which schools cant help. We dont have the funding to meet many legal requirements. But not at my school. We knew the law, and followed it. You must provide books and materials written in the native language of your immigrant students, or YOU are breaking the law. And what we learned from our time with an undocumented Honduran was that kids from this county are very kind, hospitable, and intrinsically motivated to learn a new language when they meet a new friend.
