Our day in York was lovely. We did the boat trip and there was a small cabin cruiser which had sunk in the high water of yesterday. The owner had moored it up tightly and left it no room to rise with the increase in water height.[ the guy running the boat trip told us as we passed it ] but before that, We found a nice Tea Shop in the minster area which had a walled garden/patio area in the back which was very picturesque, had coffee and toasted teacakes to put us on, then looked around a bit and went in Neals Yard, trying all the samples! then on to the Minster gift shop which is very reasonable and has some great stuff. After that it was time for the boat trip, then a meal and a gentle walk back to the coach. Just time for an ice cream sitting in the sunny park before setting off for home. Hope to do it again some time. :)
