Our day started out great.... Humphrey feeling better at the show - even scored a carrot he stole from Chappy! Chapeau gets the Most Improved in 24 Hours Award 😊...he was super good. Then...to the casa to find our poor baby girl, Harlow, in the middle of the living room lying in her own poo, unable to move her back legs. I washed her off, and we are praying it isnt a stroke or cancer. Times like this you truly appreciate and love your friends and team work. Within minutes my friend and sweet vet, Amanda Miller Koerner, who is away, contacted my friend and horse vet, Leah Patipa Beccar Varela, and she was at the house in a nanosecond administering dex, torbogesic and running IV fluids with her dad, Tommy Serio. Then my friend and human doctor, Ana Lisa Carr, called in an RX for Sulcrafate. She is resting now, needs some good vibes and prayers, but seems to be a little brighter but very tired. We are hoping its a disk issue and she will regain feeling in her legs which she seems to have a little bit. This little one has had a tough life before we adopted her 3 years ago in March....just hoping for a little more time with her to continually let her know how much she is loved.
