Our dog Rex is having a bad day. It started with Phil and I cleaning out the freezer and finding an enormous bone. We gave it to him, he was thrilled but it was too frozen to eat. As he lay in bed waiting for it to thaw four or five hawks started to circle, then spiralling closer and closer until they were tearing off pieces of meat off. Well Rex was not having it he bolted out of bed and gave chase. At the same time a goanna shot out from under the freezer and chased Rex! Poor Rex he might not be the sharpest tool in the shed but what he lacks in brains he makes up for in personality. My shouting alerted him to the goanna in pursuit and his face registered his shock as he tucked his bum under his chin while using his front legs to carry him to safety(the back of Braedens ute). Poor Rex had to spend some quiet time inside with Mum to recover, the birds have flown and the goanna has taken up residence behind the freezer. If I wasnt as big a chicken as Rex is Id go and chase it away, but Id rather face a snake than a goanna!
