Our education systems input is cream and output is bullshit. Yesterday I was talking to a Pakistani who is doing masters from UC Berkeley. I realized the difference between his mind set and mine. Ofcourse mine is a metaphor for our student community in general. We are a confused nation, having a tangled thread-ball of priorities. They are honest with themselves. And being honest doesnt mean that 4.0/4.0 is as far as you get in education. They consider it a responsibility to push the boundaries of the current knowledge and existing developments that mankind has so far produced. We, on the other hand, simply do what it takes to pass the exam; the very thing that is destroying us. Ilm-o-hunar ma taaq hna he wo cheez the jo muslmanoun ko ooper lay k gae aur is cheez ma carelessness hamain neechy lay ai ha. It sometimes makes me sad, very sad indeed.
