Our ego is actively engaged during survivalist, fear-based - TopicsExpress

Our ego is actively engaged during survivalist, fear-based reactions. The ego becomes inflamed when we choose to run from our fears or fight them; this fear-based reaction becomes ingrained as the automatic, “safe” response to fear. When we choose to face our fears, the ego is balanced and reassured that it’s dominate presence is not required to protect us in the company of fear. While our greatest fears are surfacing, gently comfort yourself that your usual “fight or flight” response is not your only option when facing your fears. I had conditioned myself to be afraid of failure (failing a test, a goal, a relationship, etc.), and manipulated my path to avoid a possible failure; but this choice usually voided a lesson to be learned and is the very reason I keep facing the same fears. Often our greatest blessings come wearing the mask of fear. When we face our fears, we conquer them despite their outcome. We often assume that if we face a fear, it will generate a specific outcome and we choose to believe that outcome will be harmful. When we release the assumptions we place on facing our fears, we allow all possible outcomes to exist and create an avenue for a blessing out of distress.
