Our elderly deserve our loyalty, love, and respect. You think you have had a tough life? How old are you? How will you feel about your life when you are 70? 80? 90? What about when you are no longer able to get dressed without help? What are you going to do when how well your day turns out, on how helpful your aide for the day is..or how much time they have to help you? What are you going to remember about your life? Will the younger generation admire you for what you have done...or will they mock you for being feeble? What do you see when you look at a 98 year old? A weak person that may have dementia? Do you hear all their stories? Do you feel their joys and pain? Can you see through their eyes? Do you listen to their wisdom? I had the honor of helping to entertain a group of elderly folks today. They loved the show, and humored us through the parts we didnt do so well. There were lots of smiles and plenty of laughter. It was wonderful to see so many of my friends come together, to celebrate and honor those that have lead the way for us. It boosts my faith in society. I know that not everybody has forgotten what is important in life. :D
