Our family (Forbes) were also Sonesta caravan campers from 1977 up to 1980, whereafter we just went for there for weekends but then only in the chalets up to 1984. And I have so many fond memories of Sonesta (the disco in the evening(with DJ Harper), all our youngsters lounging around in the blue lounge or orange restaurant during the day. The Capetonians and Stellenboschers in competition for the girls (every year). My sister and I took a drive there a few years back to show some friends of us where w used to camp and we were quite sad to see how it has changed. No hotel (gone), the tennis court(ruined), the putt put course(gone), the caravan sites now had wooden houses on.
