Our farm puts a high priority on strong genetics and genetic diversity. Once diversity is lost, it cannot be regained. In order to save diversity in beef, poultry, rabbit, and pork, products must be consumed as meat in order to save heritage breeds and their genetics from extinction. This is what we do. Modern turkey breeds are too fat and breast-heavy to breed, and must be artificially inseminated. Apparently, commercial roosters are becoming infertile and lowering production. Time to wake up and stop relying on a handful of producers and breeds to supply the majority of our meat. Please support your local farmers and those preserving heritage breeds! For the sake of delicious food and the future of your children and grandchildren. Thank you!
