Our father, from Roger Glenn and I, always used to say: The secret to success in Show Business, especially for Singers and Musicians, is to have an Identity of Sound, so that anyone who hears you, knows right away that it is YOU and not someone else!! (Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Barbara Streisand etc. and the list could go on and on!! When you hear them, you know right away who it is!! ;-)) By the way, put our father on the list too! As soon as I hear his trombone, I know that it is him!! In 1973, standing back stage in Carnegie Hall at a Tribute Concert for Louis Armstrong where Dad was playing, I was standing next to J.J. Johnson when he said to me pointing to dad: Your Father is the Greatest!! Coming from someone as great as he was on the trombone, that was a Great Compliment!!
