Our featured alumnus this time is Anna. Shes a recent BHRA alum, and has already fit in very well at her new home. Her dad wrote the following about Anna and how she has changed their lives. If you have an alumni whom youd like to talk about, send us a message with their photo and their story. Before we went to Doo Dah Day this year, we had gone to lunch, and ticked off a long checklist of reasons why we couldnt get a dog just yet. We were afraid we didnt have enough money, a dog wouldnt like our apartment, and that the surly old cat who already lived there wouldnt like a dog. At Doo Dah Day, we had already visited several adoption booths -- sticking to our decision very firmly -- when we came to the Basset Hound Rescue tent, and Anna made us forget everything! She was just laying under the table, shy around all the people, and with a big mopey look on her face. I dont know why these qualities made us fall in love with Anna, but somehow we knew she would be perfect. We could not be more pleased with her. Basset Hound Rescue had already gotten Anna up-to-date with her vet visits, and handed her records over to us so we could take care of her from there. It was all a very smooth process, and -- to our great surprise -- very affordable! They really couldnt give us an excuse for not adopting. Anna is a very good fit for our apartment. She loves to go outside, but shes a homebody more than anything else. She loves lying in her bed beside me while I work on my computer, or being lazy with us in the living room after a long day. She even gets along fairly well with the cat; not sure if the cat enjoys her too much, but they seem to tolerate each other fairly well. Ive caught them working together to convince us to feed them before its dinner time.
