Our final destination is the largest country in Africa… Mali. There are 40 different spoken languages in Mali. French is the official language, yet about 80% of the population communicate in Bambara. Bamako is the capital of Mali. It is considered the fastest-growing city in Africa and the sixth-fastest growing city in the world. Mali is renowned worldwide for having produced some of the stars of African music. The annual Festival in the Desert has traditionally celebrated this talent. Our Coaching for Hope programme was born in Mali in 2005. In 2006 our patron Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) visited Mali, where he saw first hand the work we do. We hope you’ve enjoyed our journey!
