Our friends at Native Seeds/SEARCH and Oregon State University are featured in this NPR piece on interesting plant varieties to try this year. OSUs Jim Myers started working on indigo tomato varieties more than a decade ago with genetic material from wild tomatoes from Chile and the Galapagos Islands. His finished varieties are open-pollinated and have enhanced flavor and nutrition characteristics, including antioxidant potential.
