Our friends at VOICE-Buffalo have asked us to share this message in support of restoring Erie Countys Conditional Release Program for non-violent offenders: Dear Supporter, When we met with County Executive Mark Poloncarz on April 22nd. He was all for the idea of reinstating the conditional release program. What was stopping him? He said, The people of Erie County dont want it. So we started a petition to prove him wrong. He needs to know that people of faith all across Western New York are called to liberate our brothers and sisters who are lamenting in prison for non-violent offenses and treatable mental health conditions. The conditional release program would give our neighbors a second chance at life – the opportunity to return to our communities and their families with the treatment and support they need.
