Our friends over at My Pet Chicken need our help. They have been targeted and made the subject of a petition against shipping chicks. Something like this is so detrimental to not only their company - which I have personally ordered from several times and never had a problem - but backyard chicken keeping in general. Please take a moment to read their statement and leave a comment if you wish to lend support ... and remember that Mother Nature designed chicks to absorb the yolk in the egg just before they hatch. This provides them all the nutrition they need for 3 days to allow the mother hen to continue to sit on any unhatched eggs and not have to leave the nest to go look for food for the baby chicks. It is what also has allowed hatcheries and breeders to successfully ship chicks for more than 100 years. We stand by Traci and Lissa and everyone else at My Pet Chicken 100% and hope some of you will offer your support also.
