Our friends who follow JRR Tolkien are quite excited about the upcoming movie: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Im not a Tolkien guy -- Didnt he and Harry Potter invent the iPhone? Im a bit vague on this point. -- so I need some help here: I know smaug is unpleasant, smelly and bad for your health, but I never thought of it as being desolate. Why is this? Was it filmed in an aubscure part of Laus Angeles? I dont think any was filmed in Seattle. We do (unfortunately) have smaug, but I think were more like Laundon in that were better known for our fauggy days. It even drives the fraugs deeper into their warming mud. When it comes to smaug, clearly Im caunfused. thehobbit/
