Our guarantee of the free exercise of religion by definition protects our right to insult one another, since religious expressions and beliefs are usually contradictory and mutually exclusive. If I claim one way is the only right way, then Im also claiming that other ways are wrong. Thus true religious freedom, and freedom of speech generally, are NEVER able to flourish in any context where people are prohibited or discouraged from speech that others might find offensive.
