Our healing stretch class is customized for people who have old/new injuries. Based on chiropractor Dr Jeffrey Hwangs assessment, we create a sequence of poses to help people rehabilitate. I know how people feel about their injuries because I saw tears when they told me about their pain and the cause of the injuries. I know most people always blame themselves for their injuries. I know its hard that they carry the injuries and come to practice and still need to remember to breath deeply while stretching. I severely injured my lower back before so I really know that kind of pain that you cant even fall asleep at night. Today,in the end of our healing stretch class, I invited my students to feel grateful for our 5 senses- We can see the beautiful things, we can hear, we can smell, and we can taste all the good food. To feel thankful for our 5 senses is the most powerful way to change our perspectives.We all have old and new injuries/wounds or physical problems in our bodies but blaming ourselves wont change anything. Only through a consistent practice and precisely stretch with purpose, we can eventually recover and learn how to take care of ourselves. Injury is actually the best teacher. We learn from it,let go and move on. Practice and practice, all is coming.
