Our hearts are heavy with grief and our condolences go out to Diana, all his children, his sisters, and the many friends he has left behind. My Uncle was a gift, a guiding influence and he was a father to me when I lost my own. He shared stories of my father, Virgil and others; and their grand adventures together. He gave me the gift of insight into my Dad as no one could. I will miss the many hours we sat up and talked of days gone by; his feelings about life and his advice when my heart was heavy. I carry in my heart a love which knows no bounds and a head full of knowledge only he could teach. Jr could light up a room and fill it with roaring laughter with his many hilarious stories of day-to-day life. He taught me so many things from driving a tractor to building a deck. He was a rock to anchor myself. He was always patient when teaching me things, like how to change out a serpentine belt, adjust a welder and to how to get a bargain at a garage sale. He and I would play “stump” a game where we would pick out at antique item and try to figure out what it was; most of the time he won, but laughter at our guesses always came with the game. I am cherished for the time I spent with him; I’ll miss his laughter; his Stymie grin, his pranks and songs made up around the campfire; laughing until our sides ached. My memories are vast from the “Wax Job” to the “Fur Rent”; to me he was a man larger than life. There will never be another for he was one of a kind; I thank God for sharing him.
