Our honored little guests… Who among us can truly say they do not enjoy puppies? The puppy piles and the play bows? The challenges and the licks? Puppy breath? As the weeks roll by we find ourselves constantly making new friends. Which is great, we love having friends. It also means meeting more people that actually care about the things we care about, namely, the animals. Which is also great. This is one of our goals, to get more people involved in the welfare of the animals. More people “Providing Hope for Those with None.” So, as a result, we stay even busier. Puppies poop. Yes, I know all animals do but puppies are indiscriminate. They will poop when and wherever the mood strikes. And they poop a lot. Constant cleaning. They usually come to us with parasites. Parasites can be lethal for any animal but especially so with a puppy. They are prone to sickness. Being puppies and with a puppy’s curiosity, they also have a tendency to explore. And occasionally, get stuck. Somewhere we didn’t think they could even go. They do not care what time of day it is. They do not care what time of year it is. They do not care if it is Christmas Eve or the Fourth of July. They take work and a lot of attention. Not to mention the cost of spay and neutering as well as the meds for the parasites. And yes, we did have a couple of scares………but……. ***Update*** Once again, please say hello to Sandy and the Annie gang. These glorious little guys and gals are everything that a humorous little bunch of puppies should be. They play, they fight, they argue, and yes, they poop. But through the scares and all of the care, they are healthy (keep your fingers crossed they continue to stay this way!).
