Our imaginative Gallery Artist of the Week is David Peters! David Peters is a photographer, illustrator, aviator, teapot maker, and occasional travel writer. Peters has published several books of his photography, including a book documenting his 6 year association as a crewmember of a WWII B-25 Bomber Heavenly Body, based at Van Nuys Airport. His whimsical teapots have been in shows in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, and can be found in several major collections and museums. Peters describes his Tea Rex teapot, featured in our current Teapots! 8th Invitational Show, below: This is a non-functional tea pot in that it is not designed to hold liquids. Any implied warranty is voided if liquids are used. This is a scaled down mutated Tyrannosaurus, it is not suitable for real urban destruction or social chaos, any similarities to real or imagined creatures is totally intentional! Do not attempt to clone or otherwise replicate this creation for world domination purposes. Scraping or otherwise sampling for DNA is not recommended and could void the warranty. This is a totem meant to guard, protect, and possibly eat you. It is most comfortable when displayed in a place where it can be enjoyed. No endangered species were harmed in the making of this art. - Peters, 2014 His work can be viewed on our website at: morganglassgallery/artists/peters.htm
