Our intrepid male cat is recuperating at home. Vet says hell probably be okay, but wants to see him in two days - on Friday. Necrosis occurred, where skin and some flesh died, but he is a healthy cat and should recover over the next few weeks. Giving him fluids and special soft food and pain killers. The wound is draining, including blood. The vet wont bandage it until the dead skin sloughs off, then he will close the wound and bandage it. For now, he wants it to drain and for the cat to lick it to remove the dead skin. He also got a mega antibiotic shot. No more playing with rattlesnake friends!
