Our kids gorgeous teacher (they go to a homeschool group with 6 other kids on the island) has got all of us doing the Virtues Project for the next year - its a lovely way to encourage children to focus on the good stuff that everyone has inside them and I thought Id share! As a society we so often tell our kids Dont do this or dont do that and the kids are left looking at us like well what DO I do then? this is a lovely way to introduce the concepts of these 52 virtues to give them (and us) a positive focus point. This weekend in our house we are creating a jar of jewels (pebbles from the beach painted by the kids with the names of the virtues painted on them) for each of us in the family and over dinner once a week we will first honour each other with the wonderful virtues weve seen them display over the past week. Then well dig to the middle or the bottom of the jar and pick a virtue that in the COMING week we need to dig a little deeper to let the world see :) You can download a virtues poster to pop on the fridge here and you can also order the book too. :) virtuesproject/family.html
