Our legislators are busy barring people from running for public office but dont see the need to legislate funding for Ebola fight..they hide behind one article to talk only elections matter since most of them have wasted resources early and hope that this is the chance to rob the noble people of Liberia..leaders with no plan B Relying on the constitution and leaving out reasoning, perfect interpretation will yield Liberia in a state of no discipline for her citizens I have extreme difference to this inhuman call for elections. In whose happiness is elections to be held as provided by article one of the constitution. Are our people in consent? It is evil and cruel to think elections in the midst of tragedy. Never will I follow power for greed but power for the people. As it is, the people are key right now. This is insensitivity to the highest degree. Tell me,have all indications that which elections was suspended being met, do we have a medical expertise on this? Unreasonable enough to risk our peoples lives for selfish gains. A Liberia thats begging for international help to get rid of the world most deadly virus is proving contrary to reasoning. .lets see who gets hurt. I see trouble it is prudent that a resolution of extension be pass to advoid constitutional problem and give credence for the 15 to stay on until that time. we made the constitution we can make resolution which is not a law. Civicus is right. We need to maybe and if possible have election next year. the ecoomic will have to get back on course that we will not have money issue. it is being rushed with because of ministers reasons but it will not. a lesson for us and a legal help! We hav come 2 this point 2 remind d legislatures of d fience ugency of now, this is no time to enguage in election while d liberian people are dying each day dat passes. Now is d time for liberians 2 rise against d deadly disease ebola than 2 talk abt election. 8 would b fatal 4 d govnt 2 overlook dis desaster on our soil which might likely lead 2 something very dangerious. We are not willing 2 go back 2 where we came frm 14 yrs ago. No election power greeds. Our safety comes first. Speaking to honorable Civicus Barsi-Giah this morning, Bassa senatorial aspirant, below was what he said to me and I supported him fully because hes speaking in our interests. This is why I will not go to elections if elections is demanded in December: So if article one is clear in this manner: CHAPTER I STRUCTURE OF THE STATE Article 1 All power is inherent in the people. All free governments are instituted by their authority and for their benefit and they have the right to alter and reform the same when their safety and happiness so require. In order to ensure democratic government which responds to the wishes of the governed, the people shall have the right at such period, and in such manner as provided for under this Constitution, to cause their public servants to leave office and to fill vacancies by regular elections and appointments. Power inherent in the people so where is the legality that the people are regarded by the legislators? What did the framer mean by all governments are instituted by their authority and for their benefit and they have the right to alter and reform the same when their safety and happiness so require? Thirdly. .what do they mean when they say In order to ensure democratic government which responds to the wishes of the governed, the people shall have the right at such period, and in such manner as provided for under this Constitution, to cause their public servants to leave office and to fill vacancies by regular elections and appointments ? Key words Inherent Alter and reform Safety and happiness Benefit Wishes Authority Can I get our peoples view? Note: I am on the side of the people that elections will not be a level playing field and it is an affront to the people. I see it as unnecessary to think elections when our peopl are faced with trauma, fear, high death rates, and non recovery system. And thats a clear picture of unreasonable attitudes to think elections when we are seeking all help to make Liberia, yea Africa an Ebola non stereotype zone. Words and questions from an advocate, politician, and candidates Have your saying folks
