Our little guy is 3 weeks and 2 days old and the doctors say he is doing fantastic! Monday they are doing an echocardiogram to see what they will be dealing with in his little heart!!! There are 2 different surgeries they can do: the stent in his ductus or the UV shunt. Wednesday is the day that they decide when to schedule his surgery!! If they decide to do the stent in on his ductus, they just go in through the leg or arm. Its called a cath-lab. Itll be like a small catheter and they go through the veins and then place a stent inside his ductus to keep it open and they will send us home to let him grow to a certain amount then have us come back for his open heart surgery. And he will have a feeding tube the whole time at home. But if they decide to do the shunt then they will have us wait until he is a certain weight and they will keep him on the ventilator, and then when he reaches that weight then thats when they will do his open heart surgery.. its scary either way, but Kahden is so strong and God has been here this long with us and he will follow us the rest of the way! I ask that you please pray for us!! Im so nervous for baby K, but at the same time Im so excited that he is gonna finally be fixed!! Thank you! :)
