Our liver lovin staff member is none other than Pastor Dwight Ascher! Originally from northwest Illinois, Pastor Ascher and his wife Delinda came to Kankakee and Grace Baptist Church in 1981. He served as a Bible teacher in the Academy and Mrs. Ascher worked as a nurse. After three years, he answered a call to Grace Bible Church in Woodbine, IL where he served for four years as pastor of the church and head of the Woodbine Christian School. From there he served for eight years as the pastor of Maple Ridge Bible Church in Boscobel, Wisconsin. Pastor Ascher and his family returned to Kankakee and Grace Baptist Church in 1996 and he has since served as associate pastor, principal of the Academy, and now as the senior pastor. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Bible and Theology from Calvary Bible College and a Master of Science Degree in Biblical Counseling from Calvary Theological Seminary both in Kansas City, Missouri. Pastor Dwight teaches our senior Bible class at GCA. Pastor and Delinda have three grown sons -- all graduates of Grace Christian Academy, all married, and all living in the area. They also have five grandsons.
