Our mission is to provide a setting, reminiscent of a dining experience of the early 20th Century; where we return to traditional values providing a quality service in a relaxed environment. Our venue has retained memories of times gone by in its historic stature at the Lamb Arcade, in the Market Town of Wallingford on Thames. The Lamb Arcade Antique Centre divided into forty shops and show cases, offering a wide selection of collectables and antiques. Previously an Inn since 1550, it received its present name in1688. There is a record that the Prince of Orange stayed here on his journey to London to be crowned King. Wallingford is a town steeped in history, from the medieval bridge over the Thames to the grassy banks of its ancient fortification, it proclaims a colourful past. It’s a town of surprises of the bustle of the market place and the tranquillity of the cobbled back streets, so why not visit our hidden gem within the Lamb Arcade. The Ducky team believe we can create a memorable occasion to be enjoyed by all age groups. With the mellow sounds of the piano accompanied by locally produced good food, fine wines and why not try locally brewed Philsters Ale? So... Why Ducky Shincracker? You can tell a lot about what is happening in history by slang words. Ducky Shincracker was a term used often in 1920s and 1940s, when the new style of dancing and music evolved, the new music and dances were fast pace and energetic like the optimistic 1920s them self, they were an escape from the horror of war and the opportunity to release pent up emotions created by the restricted life styles forced on the public by the war effort. Dancing evolved along with music such as jazz and blues. Everything is Ducky meaning all is good, superb, excellent and feeling happy.
