Our museum is the recipient of a wonderful gift which we have been seeking for a long time. The new owners of The Ranch Hand Restaurant have given the museum a large, oak barrel with metal bands, to be used as a rain barrel, connected to rain gutter downspouts. This practice was done extensively during the mid 19th C. and can be seen in use on old period plantations throughout the South. We recommend the newly refurbished Ranch Hand highly for its excellent food and encourage everyone to drop in and introduce themselves to the new owners, Pablo and Courtney.They are highly civic minded and have many new and refreshing ideas for our city. We strongly support them, so be sure and tell them that you saw them mentioned on Facebook!
