Our new edition....MODO Eyewear BUY A FRAME GIVE A FRAME MODO continues its dedication to social responsibility with our “Buy a Frame Give a Frame” program with the Seva Foundation through Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS) and Optometry Giving Sight (OGS). For each MODO frame purchased, we will donate a frame to those in need as part of the World Health Organization Vision 2020 initiative. The NNJS is credited with coordinating 90 percent of all eye care services in Nepal. Of the 2.2 million Nepali people seeking eye care consultations annually, 43 percent are potentially in need of eyeglasses, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). OGS specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to uncorrected refractive error – simply the need for an eye exam and a pair of glasses. More than 600 million people around the world are blind or vision impaired because they do not have access to the eye examination and glasses they need. - See more at: modo/bfgf.php#sthash.rwCZcJRC.dpuf THE CAMEROON PROJECT ECO was “born recycled” in 2009, with the start of the program “One Frame One Tree” by partnering with NGO Trees for the Future. Since then, ECO donates and plants a tree for every frame sold. Today, ECO is approaching 1 million trees planted in Cameroon, Africa! This is the Cameroon story. One that started with a seed: the idea of giving back to the world and improving lives. In 2012 we went to Cameroon to meet the people involved. With this book, we invite you to witness the impact “One Frame One Tree” continues to make on the environment and the Cameroon community. “We have a responsibility to leave the world a better place than how we found it. Together with Trees for the Future and “One Frame One Tree,” we’re making a positive impact not only on the environment but for the people of Cameroon.” - See more at: modo/cameroon.php#sthash.8wIobH3s.dpuf
