Our newest intake : Lilli the Ridgeback- a beautiful bouncy 14mnth old girl. A concerned neighbour phoned about this girl (early this week) who was apparently being beaten daily. She had no hard evidence , no pics, no video footage. As you know we cannot just rush in & accuse people of cruelty & remove their dogs. We asked her if she could convince the neighbour to surrender the dog & we would take it in. This morning we got the call to come fetch the dog- we had NO idea what we were going to be met with as I had never asked what breed the dog is- the main concern was to get the dog signed over. So here is Lilli - a typical young bouncy over grown pup. She is in good condition- just very unsure. The main problem here was POOR choice of dog for the owner (though that is no excuse to beat the dog) She was owned by an elderly man- his kids gave him Lilli as a xmas present last year- just TOO much dog for 1 elderly old man with shaky legs. Lilli will get her booster vac (yes we even got a vac card with her ...wow) & she will be steried ASAP.She needs an active home with sufficient space & some1 to understand her energy levels. She had no friend or companion & this possibly added to her frustration as she had no1 to play with & burn off steam with.
