Our newest partner Jarad is currently in Texas and Mexico assisting Wayne Weisman of The Permaculture Project with the consulting and design of a church in an area of Mexico near Reynosa where people live who cannot make it across the border and have spent all their money or sold their land back home and cannot go back to their old home. Most properties are quite barren with lots of erosion. There is a Church that is being designed with the principles and techniques of Permaculture and the goal is that this church will be an example for others to learn how to grow their own food, boost the ecological health of the land, beautify their lives and properties, and generally improve their lives and community. They are designing earthworks to harvest rainwater and reduce erosion, compost systems and other systems to increase the amount of organic matter and fertility in the soil, and introducing animals such as rabbits, chickens, and goats into the system.
