Our next FHT Local Support Group meeting for Medway, Kent is on Thursday 22 October, 7.30pm at The Physiotherapy Centre, Sittingbourne. Our guest speaker is Maxine Miles, topic What is Lymphoedema and how can Manual Lymphatic Drainage help?. PM me for more info or if you wish to attend. Maxine has been nursing for over thirty years in various roles including District nurse and Community matron where she nursed patients who had long-term conditions. She became a Reflexologist some years ago before moving to New Zealand where she nursed and developed her interest in Therapy. On return she continued to nurse, qualified as a Complementary Therapist and now specialises as a Lymphoedema nurse working with cancer and non-cancer patients . She has completed lots of training from a degree model at the Royal Marsden to Manual lymphatic drainage recently done under the nhs. She now has her own business Beach Haven Therapy, which she runs part-time alongside her nursing.
