Our next Lighthouse Food Pantry distribution day is Friday, November 22, 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm at the church. Please enter through the South doors. Doors open at 2:30 pm (No sooner, even during bad weather) at which time we serve a simple meal usually consisting of an all beef hotdog, chips, cookie, and drink. When you enter the church you are checked in and receive a number. Numbers are called starting at 3:30 to begin going through the food line. Here are a few important reminders: 1. When you check in you will need to show either an ID or current piece of mail with your current home address. This is only necessary the first time you come through or if your address has changed. 2. Only ONE family member is allowed to receive food while going through the food line starting at 3:30 (All family members are allowed to eat the meal starting at 2:30). 3. It is NOT necessary to arrive earlier than 2:30 pm. We have been serving the community for more than 3 years and have never run out of food on a distribution day. You will not necessarily get the best selection of food items by standing in line starting at 8 am. The doors do NOT open until 2:30 pm under any circumstances. If you are unable to wait in a line, please dont come before 2:30. THANK YOU! Lighthouse Food Pantry serves residents of Kankakee county and attempts to provide enough food to help a family make it through the weekend. Donations primarily come through our church family through food and cash donations that allow us to purchase additional food to meet our needs. On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings our Lighthouse Cafe is open. Proceeds from the Cafe also support the Food Pantry. If you would like to make a donation to the Lighthouse Food Pantry, you can drop it off at the church Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm or Sunday Mornings, 9:00 am - Noon. Monetary donations can also be sent directly to the church: Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene, 1000 North Entrance Avenue, Kankakee, IL 60901. Please make checks payable to the church and CLEARLY mark them FOOD PANTRY. Thank you for your support.
