Our next phase in training will start Monday! The goal of this phase is to build pull up, front squat, and deadlift strength. By building a base of strength in these movements we are setting ourselves up for improvements in our Olympic lifts and any movements that require hanging from a bar or rings (muscle ups, pull ups, toe to bar, etc). Deadlifts will improve off the floor strength and overall back strength. Front squats will improve our ability to catch full cleans and they also build tremendous lower body and core strength. Pull ups build our vertical pulling strength, core strength, and overall back strength. They also improve our relative strength (our strength relative to our bodyweight). We will continue building our other primary movements (Olympic lifts, back squat, overhead squat, bench press) and our primary skills (hand stand push ups, toe to bar, pistol squats) while challenging ourselves to perform a variety of movements in our daily MetCon. Looking forward to seeing the improvements from all!
