Our next stop was at Linz. Linz is a modern Austrian city which grew on the success of quality steel making after WW2. A new process, now called the Linz-Donawitz Process, was the key to their success. The first photograph shows the interactive technology museum. The glass covered building was designed to have the profile of a ship. Does it look as though it is sailing along the Danube? Some old buildings have been retained. This photo is a detail of the decorative figures over a doorway. The figures are covered with electrified wires to discourage birds from landing on them. The centre features a beehive and bees - definitely pre-steelmaking! I enjoyed the beds of multi-coloured petunias. There were several moths visiting. They could hover and dart with very rapid wing movement. Even when settled on a flower the wings continued to beat at blurring speed. Can anyone identify the moth?
