Our old mailman and Maebys best friend, Dave, retired last week. Maeby loves Dave, and Dave loves Maeby. He shared his lunches with her. She gave him a Christmas present. She collapses at his feet when she sees him. Our new mailman came today. I asked him if Maeby could say hi. He stepped back (she was in the house) and said firmly, NO. We do not familiarize ourselves with dogs. I get the apprehension, you dont know the dog, but dude, Im right here, and every single day you are on this job you are going to see me AND my dog. Making friends now is way better than tormenting each other until you decide to retire and we get a nicer mailman. Shed be your best friend. But hey, your loss. No Christmas presents for you.
