Our party leader personally knows two families who are forced to live abroad, with no family support network, because of these regulations - one parent is allowed into the country, but the other is not, so they go to a less-ideal but also less-xenophobic country. We are aware that a small minority might still use sham marriages as a way into western countries - but thats no excuse to punish every non-EU non-millionaire citizen who marries a British person.
