Our pastor and his wife, along with several members of our church are gone on a mission trip to Montana, so last night H.C. Wallace led our service. Ive known H. For a very long time. Most of my life. He coached basketball for years and retired as a teacher. But I had no idea he could preach! It was a simple but powerful message all Americans should listen to. We live in a blessed nation, and every day with every breath we should be praising God that we were born here and are able to live our lives free. A lot of times we take our eyes off God and the good things and complain, complain, complain. Just like the children of Israel did in the wilderness, even though God provided manna from heaven and water from the rock in a dry and desolate land. But we are living in a land flowing with milk and honey yet we still complain. Its time we Christians lift our heads up and get out in the world and show Gods love and compassion to everyone. Even those we disagree with, even those we dont necessarily like. Even our enemys. Now this is not ole H. C.s message word for word, but its what I got out of it. Anyway, you should have been there!
